Event Details

Hannah Barnes is an Associate Professor of Painting at Ball State University where she teaches painting and drawing. Born in Massachusetts, she currently resides and works in Indianapolis. Barnes received a MFA in Visual Art from Rutgers State University of New Jersey and BFA in Painting from Maine College of Art. In this new body of work, The Second Arrow, Barnes draws on a familiar vocabulary of abstract forms and tropes to explore the nature of meaning within abstraction. Her paintings, drawings, and installations engage ideas such as structure and fragmentation, surface and depth, perception, impermanence, and the indeterminacy of images. The closing reception will be November 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with the gallery talk at 6:30 pm.
